The Venice Film Festival is known globally for its impact on film trends.
During the festival, the jury offers the „Golden Lion” award, one of the most coveted awards in the film industry. The Film Festival is attended usually by actors or directors from around the world and international stars from Hollywood. This year, for example, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Angelina Jolie were present.
In addition to the films presented, there are also special sections dedicated to documentaries, short films or new talents.
Mihaela Mica, a 39-year-old from Ploiești who has been living in Italy for several years, has been selected to be the make-up artist for several stars present at the 2024 edition of the Venice Film Festival.
It all started after a small interview given to a local publication in Italy. The experience in the field and the courses taken, internationally recognized, attracted the attention of the organizers of the Venice Film Festival.
„I don’t know too many details here, an agency proposed this collaboration to me and the discussions were conducted by my manager, Leonardo Angelo.
I had to prepare myself, you realize that it was the biggest project of my career. Now it’s over, I’m very proud that I did an excellent job, everyone was satisfied. We also talked a lot about Romania, my country. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you every individual star for whom I was a make-up artist, more than 20 of them, because for certain people I have contracts with confidentiality clauses. Instead, where I didn’t have such clauses I posted photos and videos on my Instagram and Facebook accounts.
I can also tell you that in May I will go to the Cannes Film Festival and after that I will launch a personalized brand of make-up products. I have a very precise plan and I really want to promote airbrushing, which I studied 13 years ago. Many from the Venice Film Festival were amazed when they saw me using this technique”, Mihaela Mica told us.
Editor’s note: Airbrushing in make-up is a make-up application technique using a special device called an airbrush, which sprays the make-up in the form of fine particles onto the skin. This process uses compressed air to evenly distribute the product, creating a very smooth and natural finish.
Even if she always speaks about Romania and Romanians only in words of praise, living in Italy, Mihaela Mica also actively participates to local events. „I have been here for several years and I have also been involved in various local events that promote Italians. I have also sponsored a few and will continue to do so.”
We are also publishing the interview published in an Italian publication in full, in which the make-up artist of many stars at the 2024 Venice Film Festival told some details about his job and his experiences over time.
