„A police officer saves in one way, a doctor in another. I wanted to do both ,” says Elena Sachelarie, a 31-year-old young woman, veterinarian in the Animal Protection Office of the Prahova County Inspectorate.

Today we are launching the series „Women in Uniform”, and in the first episode you meet Elena.

She comes from Galați and she has wanted to become a veterinarian since she was a little girl, but she first excelled in sports. Her love for animals made her follow her childhood dream. Joining the police force was an opportunity she did not miss.

Elena has also had experiences that marked her deeply. She met people who misunderstood what it meant to love animals. And all it takes is one step from there to harming the poor speechless creatures.

*The first series of „Women in Uniform” interviews was conducted with police officers from Prahova. We also intend to interview women who wear other uniforms, specific to other jobs.
