Companies and institutions will be able to complete the digital archiving of documents using electronic signatures.
The Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digitalization, Bogdan Ivan, has signed a ministerial order to this effect, stating that transparent and simple criteria for electronic archiving have been established.
Bogdan Ivan stated at a press conference:
„In Romania, we all know that, until today, in order to close the archiving cycle in a private company or a public institution, it was necessary to print a document, which would then be archived in a physical format document. From today, new rules have been created. We have brought Romania, after more than ten years without modifications and updates to the legislation, into an area where we align with European legislation, especially in the regulation of eIDAS (Electronic Identification, Authentication, and Trust Services), and from this point of view, companies in Romania, as well as public institutions in Romania, will no longer need to print and archive documents. Instead, they will be able, based on an electronic signature and a very simple and accredited mechanism by the Romanian Digitalization Authority, to have the entire document circuit in digital electronic format.”
