The Ministry of Finance and ANAF have announced the deadline for submitting the annual financial statements to the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) and it’s on May 29.

„For the application in the fiscal year 2024 of the taxation system for micro-enterprises income, regarding the fulfillment of the condition provided for by art. 47 para. (1) letter i) of the Fiscal Code, the reference to annual financial statements concerns only Romanian legal entities that have not submitted the corresponding financial statements for the financial year 2022 and/or those corresponding to years before 2022,” ANAF stated.

Romanian legal entities must submit a copy of the annual financial statements to the territorial units of the Ministry of Finance within 150 days from the end of the financial year.

„The deadline mentioned above applies to all entities, regardless of the applicable tax system, according to the Accounting Law, with no derogation from this deadline for the financial year of 2023,” the institution further stated.

Additionally, taxpayers registered for VAT purposes that use a quarterly tax period and have made taxable intra-community acquisitions in Romania, thus required to change their tax period, becoming monthly VAT payers, must submit a declaration by May 10.
